Joliza's debut album Ushuni Webhaca needed artwork that represented rural Xhosa culture and traditional shepherd heritage while speaking to contemporary South African audiences. The cover is built on lifestyle photography of Joliza in traditional attire in a rural landscape, paired with refined typography and a calm palette drawn from the land itself.
The result feels intimate and cinematic, and gives the release a confident place in the maskandi and traditional music market.
